4 ways to save time with pre-accounting

Want to close your books fast? Pre-accounting can help!

Recording your transactions can be time-consuming and prone to errors – but it doesn’t have to be. Exporting transactions prepared with pre-accounting is one way to have even better and faster bookkeeping. Here’s how!

What is pre-accounting?

Pre-accounting is the process of getting your data ready for bookkeeping to save time and increase accuracy.

In traditional banking, you export ‘raw’ transactions and then upload them to your accounting software. Without pre-accounting, you have a lot of manual work later, like specifying accounts, project codes, cost centres and VAT rates. You’ll also need to gather your receipts and invoices and then attach these to your transactions.

We built our new pre-accounting tool* to simplify your month-end admin and close your books in just a few clicks.

Automate fetching materials

Manually collecting receipts, including chasing down colleagues, can be a real drain on your time. Including receipts in your accounting is often critical for compliance depending on your business type and location. So, you can’t miss anything important!

Save time and reduce mistakes by auto-collecting receipts and invoices from your email inbox. With Juni Receipt Matching, you can connect your Gmail account to auto-collect receipts from Facebook Ads, Shopify, Klaviyo and TikTok. You can also automatically import your receipts and invoices with your dedicated Juni inbox for effortless spend management.

We can attach your Google Ads receipts too. You could also benefit from features like Juni Invoices to settle your media invoices in seconds and Juni Capital for invoices to release the pressure on your cash flow cycles with financing that gives you up to 90 days to repay**.

Match invoices and receipts

Once you’ve collected your invoices and receipts, you need to match them to your transactions. Manually doing this is time-consuming, especially if you have a high volume of transactions. Instead of sorting through them looking for the right match, let automation do the work for you while you get on with other tasks.

Juni Receipt Matching automatically matches auto-collected invoices and receipts from your Juni inbox to the correct transactions, so you don’t have to. All you need to do is review them!

Prepare transactions with pre-accounting

Pre-accounting can reduce the need for manual input to get your transactions ready for bookkeeping. By including the information you need to record journal entries when you export transactions to your accounting software, you’ll make your bookkeeping process faster and smoother!

With Juni’s pre-accounting, you can create custom dimensions and effortlessly assign them to transactions, either individually or in bulk. Specify accounts, project codes, cost centres and VAT rates, and assign them to transactions in bulk. This means you can add information to lots of similar transactions at once, saving even more time.

Export five times faster

Now your pre-accounting work is done, you need to export all your information to your chosen accounting software. One way to make your export five times faster is with a bulk uploads feature!

Juni offers export via CSV or SIE to sync with your bookkeeping tool. With SIE fields, you can set a custom export format to configure your information to map to your ledgers correctly. Get ready for 100% accurate exports every time with a clear overview of every payment and how it’s been prepared.
